Welcome
My name is Susan Peabody and the
editor of Recovery Life has asked me to write a column about recovery. I am
happy to do so as “carrying the message” is my “primary purpose.” What is the
message? Well that is what my writings are all about, so stay tuned.
Let me begin this journey I am about to
embark on by sharing with you my own personal philosophy about life—borrowed
from all the people who have come to my aid for the last twenty two years.
-
We are never alone when we suffer because
we all suffer;
-
We must feel the pain of our past and then
let it go;
-
Change is to human life what metamorphosis
is to the caterpillar. It is the inevitable cycle of life. If there is no
change, there is no life;
-
A benevolent force in the universe is with
us every step of the way, and our measure of grace will come in its good time;
-
When we are on the right path, invisible
hands will come to our aid;
-
To keep what we have, we must give it away.
Of course, as I grow and change so does my
belief system, so don’t be surprised if I change my mind about anything in the
coming months.
I cannot do this column alone. Please write
and tell me what you want to know about recovery because when I run out of
articles that I have already written I will be writing exclusively for you. So
“ask and it shall be given to you.”
