Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are depressants that are commonly used to treat both physical and psychological ailments. They may be prescribed to relieve anxiety, as a muscle relaxant or to stop convulsions. Popular Benzodiazepines include Xanax, Valium and Librium. Each of these drugs is extremely addicting. If an individual suddenly stops taking them, serious withdrawal symptoms may occur, some which are very dangerous. Therefore, it is important to work with a physician to slowly wean the user off of the drug.
